iBiquity Digital Purchases IKOS Systems' VStation-5M Emulator

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2001--IKOS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IKOS), a leading provider of high-performance design verification solutions, today announced that iBiquity Digital Corporation, the leading developer of AM and FM digital broadcast technology, has purchased a VStation-5M(TM) emulation system to be used for system integration and system verification. iBiquity Digital's first use of the IKOS system will be to verify a 1.5-million gate digital receiver design, which is an integral part of iBiquity Digital's iDAB(TM) technology. This new technology allows existing radio stations to use the current AM and FM spectrum to transmit analog simultaneously with new higher quality digital signals that eliminate the static, hiss, pops and fades associated with today's reception. The equipment built on this technology is expected to deliver new digital services simultaneously along with existing analog radio broadcasts.

``We were looking for a solution with tremendous performance and a partner who would work closely with us,'' stated Wade Stone, senior member of the technical staff with iBiquity Digital. ``Because of our intricate testing requirements and the need to incorporate high-performance system-level verification, we found that IKOS' VStation-5M emulation system was exactly what we needed. IKOS' product has the ability to implement data streaming in an emulation environment, thus drastically reducing the time it takes to perform extensive bit-error-rate testing.''

``We are pleased to be working with a technology innovator such as iBiquity Digital,'' stated Ramon Nunez, president and CEO of IKOS Systems. ``They had a need for a verification solution capable of rapidly handling large data streaming test benches combined with simulator-like debug capabilities and our VStation-5M emulator is well-suited to meet those requirements. Working together, we were able to reduce the time it took for iBiquity Digital to run these tests from days to hours.''

ABOUT THE VSTATION-5M

IKOS' VStation-5M emulation system is a complete System on a chip (SoC) verification station offering easy-to-use in-circuit emulation; high-performance co-modeling through the Transaction Interface Portal (TIP); data streaming with virtually unlimited vector width and fully integrated RTL compile and debug capabilities. The VStation-5M emulator verifies highly complex designs up to 5 million gates, has expandable memory capacity up to 48Mbytes and operates at emulation speeds up to 2MHz. It incorporates IKOS' patented VirtuaLogic(TM) compiler and VirtualWires(TM) technology. The VStation-5M features easy memory modeling; accurate modeling of asynchronous clocks; fast, fully automated partitioning and compilation as well as 100% visibility of internal and external signals. It has a compact form factor, weighs 110 lbs (49.9 kg) and operates on 90-264V AC power. Entry level price for the VStation-5M emulation system is priced $495,000 (U.S. List Price) including software.
